Drawing for Licenses for All Michiganders
ABISA works to bridge the resource and information gap impacting Blvck immigrant communities, ABISA focuses on centering Blvck/African immigrant narratives and experiences by promoting social equity, economic justice, and civic participation
We are hosting a Drawing for Licenses event to support and uplift the work we have been doing to ensure the successful re-introduction of the bill in the state and hoping to get it passed this time. The event will take place at Darul Wahi, a private school owned by Black immigrants in the community who saw a need to have a school that caters to our children’s needs.
The children participating in this campaign will be ages 8 to 16, along with volunteers from the community who will show support during the event.
We look forward to making a significant impact and educating the children on the importance of freedom of movement and why every Michigander, regardless of their background, should be able to have a driver’s license.
