Works of Welcome: Art Exhibition, Reception, and Awards Ceremony

Local high school students have been invited to explore the immigrant and refugee experience in greater Fort Wayne and capture these stories in works of art. These works, which include story-portrait collages and graphic arts, will engage with immigrant and refugee stories at the data and narrative levels. Students have been provided with the New Americans of Allen County data report and are encouraged to take a deeper dive into the story of a specific new American in their community, learning about their past struggles, present situations, and future aspirations.

Explore the Works of Welcome opening reception from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at University of Saint Francis’s Rolland Art Center. Enjoy light refreshments provided by Saint Annes Communities.

Join us at 1:00 p.m. as we honor exceptional student artwork in an award ceremony.
