Welcoming Little Amal to her US Tour
Little Amal is a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl who has traveled across 13 countries meeting more than a million people. This fall, between September 7 and November 5, 2023, she will journey 6,000 miles across the United States in one of the largest free public festivals ever created.
Little Amal and Welcoming America hosted a webinar to help build a coalition of partners for Amal's U.S. tour of 35+ cities and towns kicking off during Welcoming Week (September 8-17, 2023).
“Little Amal’s arrival during Welcoming Week and her journey through American communities offers a profound moment of reflection for our nation as we grapple with who belongs and who has the freedom to move.
We are proud to partner with Little Amal, as our member communities work to extend a warm reception that shows the best of who we can be as a welcoming America,” – Rachel Perić, Executive Director of Welcoming America.
