Voices of Migration: A Community Storytelling Celebration
Celebrate the Power of Storytelling and Preserve Your History
Join us for a special welcoming week event celebrating the art of storytelling and the preservation of personal histories hosted by the Utah Historical Society, the Center for Economic Opportunity and Belonging, and Voices for Utah Children.
Date: Saturday, September 14th
Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Location: Glendale Library, 1367 Concord St, Salt Lake City, UT 84104
Join us for a day dedicated to sharing and preserving you and your families’ stories. Whether it be a story of moving to America, finding love, getting a degree, or sharing a family recipe or photograph, we want to preserve your history.
Through interactive storytelling booths, you can:
- Share Oral Stories: Record your story of migration and inspire others with your voice.
- Submit Written Stories: Contribute your written narratives, capturing the essence of your experiences and journey.
- Scan and Share: Digitize your photos, recipes, letters, and more. These precious items will be archived in the Utah Historical Society’s online collection, ensuring your story lives on.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with your community, share your experiences, and contribute to Utah’s rich history.
Food will be provided.
