Open Doors for Refugees – Community Picnic 2024

September 15, 2024 - 12:00 pm

Join Open Doors for Refugees at their annual community picnic on September 15th at the Olin Park Pavilion in Madison, Wisconsin. This family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, delicious food, and live musical entertainment, providing an opportunity for resettled refugees and long-term Madison residents to come together and build connections.

Last year’s summer picnic saw nearly 300 attendees, and this year, Open Doors hopes to attract an even larger crowd. The event not only celebrates the diversity of Madison’s community but also highlights the resilience of local refugees in overcoming challenges. The picnic is free and open to everyone, with attendees encouraged to contribute to the potluck if possible.

Open Doors for Refugees is a volunteer-led organization that welcomes and supports refugees in the Madison area. The organization, originally founded in 2015 in response to the Syrian refugee crisis, is a trusted community partner serving refugees of different ethnicities and nationalities arriving in Madison.
